Gamzigradska Banja spa is located in eastern Serbia, 220 km from Belgrade and 11 km from Zaječar. It is nestled in the valley of the lower course of the Crni Timok river, not far from the main road between Zaječar and Paraćin, and lies 160 m above sea-level.
Gamzigradska Banja has a mainly continental climate, but also has a microclimate with features typical of mountain foothills. Surrounded by forest-covered hills, clean air and unspoilt nature, Gamzigradska Banja is a pleasant place for treatment and rest.
The spa has several thermal mineral water springs, with temperatures raging from 38 to 43°C, which are classed as alkaline-earth hyperthermal, that is acrothermal (lightly mineralised). It is no coincidence that Roman Emperor Gaius Galerius Valerius Maximianus, who historians say suffered from rheumatism, built a luxurious palace right here in the 3rd century.
Treatments are performed in the Gamzigrad Specialised Rehabilitation Hospital. Particularly attractive are the two indoor thermal mineral water swimming pools, which are surrounded with beautiful wall mosaics.

Gamzigradska Banja has exceptional facilities for sports training. Swimming pools, a gym, a football pitch, small sports fields and tennis courts are available. During training, athletes are supervised by qualified sports doctors, and there is the option for all athletes to take a cardiac stress test and have their health status certified in their competitive record booklet.
The spa is an excellent destination for school excursions. In the Specialised Hospital, under the supervision of a doctor, children can undergo a medical examination performed by physical medicine specialists, checking for correct posture and assessing the condition of the soles of the feet.
One of the oldest hydroelectric power plants in Serbia is located in Gamzigradska Banja itself and the remains of the Felix Romuliana royal Roman complex are located 3 km away. The complex was built on the orders of Emperor Gaius Galerius Valerius Maxiaminus, the co-ruler of Diocletian.
Gamzigradska Banja guests have the opportunity to go on organised trips to the Zlotske Pećine caves, the Rajačke Pivnice wine cellars, Rtanj mountain and the Suvobor and Grliš monasteries.
