Description:
Valjevo’s National Museum was established in 1951. Museum is located in the center of Valjevo on the edge of the pedestrian zone, near a hotel.
The building of the Museum was erected in 1870, and at that time was the first designed facility in the town. There were an elementary school and a grammar school, and during the First World War it was a part of the famous Valjevo hospital.
This building now houses central permanent exhibition “Valjevo: the third dimension of the past – a look from the future”. Тhere are also the reception room with the information desk and the gift shop, the Museum gallery, and the Museum cafe club.
The main, central permanent exhibition “Valjevo: the third dimension of the past – a look from the future” represents an unusual time machine prepared using a combination of museum presentation and modern methods of ambient and event reconstruction, with the addition of contemporary scene multimedia technology.
