On the way from Zrenjanin to Novi Sad trere is a place called Žabalj. The most wonderful edifice in this place is the Church of St Nicholas. It was built in Baroque style with a unique iconostasis made of polished colorful artificial stone.
There is the hunting ground Stara Tisa next to Žabalj, very rich in Roe deer and wildfowls. There is a Jergička Valley with a cutoff meander of the river Tisa which is possibly the most significant habitat of birds living in ponds in Serbia. There you have to be prepared for a real – photo safari. The golf-lovers in Žabalj may bring their equipment because there is a real professional golf terrain next to Žabalj.
