Description:
Sjenica, the town that is also dominant in the District of Ras, bears the beauty and the burden of the times long gone. However, this place is the most famous for its Pešterska visoravan (The Plateau of Pešter), good cattle breeders and the products that are made from the sheep of Pešter and Sjenica, such as the cheese of Pešter. The Plateau is rich in subterranean rivers and the biggest of them is the Borovštica river, about 15 km long, the river that has 140 sinkholes on no more than 5 km of its flow. The Bridge on the Uvac, near the village of Ursule, 14 km away from Sjenica, is one of few mediaeval monuments of that kind in Serbia.
